The Great Big Family Bird Show

starring NIGEL BIRDBERRY — currently, and quite honestly, in rehearsal

In rehearsal · live debut pending
Nigel — warming up his voice

Family! FAMILY! Gather round — rehearsal is ON.

The voice you'll hear is your browser's stand-in — Nigel's true voice is still in the workshop. He'd want you to know that.

The one law of this table

LIVE never lies. Not even a little. Not even for fun.

Nothing here is pretend

The live camera is not wired into this page yet, so there are zero live bird sightings here — and we will never show you a fake one. Ever. Pinky promise, wing promise, mustache promise.

Nigel is rehearsing

Right now he's studying his field guide, practicing his gasp, and inventing splendid new words. Everything on this page is honestly labeled rehearsal — practice for the big day.

When it's real, you'll KNOW

The moment a real bird lands and the sovereign live path proves it, this page transforms and shows you — live, that second. Until then, every recorded or simulated state says so.

Opening night pending

The stage is set. The spotlight is polished.

This is an artist's picture of the stage — not a camera, and it never pretends to be one. When the real window opens, real video takes over right here, and only then.

In rehearsal — no bird yet
RESERVED for the first real bird

No live bird right now — and that's the truth.

Practice makes plumaceous

The Rehearsal Corner

Two of Nigel's favourite warm-ups. Everything below is practiced on the field guide, never presented as a live bird.

🎬 Practice a line

Nigel picks a bird from the expected cast and rehearses what he'll say when one truly arrives.

Rehearsal take 0 — no real bird involved Nigel clears his throat. He is ready when you are.

✨ The Word-Coining Machine

Nigel invents his superlatives on the spot. Press the button and he'll coin a brand-new one, just for you.

SPLENDIDIBIRD

— a classic from the Nigel dictionary, to get us started.

The cast we expect

Meet the Cast

Every feeder bird of Georgia that might one day grace our table. Nigel has studied them all.

Honesty note, big and clear: these portraits are field-guide reference photos from Wikipedia — the birds we expect, not birds we've seen. Not one of these is a sighting at Canoe's feeder. When real Canoe sightings exist, they'll arrive with receipts.

Fetching the field guide from the wings…

Under the feathers

A working research instrument, with the receipts left on

Nigel is not a mockup. A real Canoe camera session was recovered, its proprietary transport was dissected, and the resulting media fixture now runs through a deterministic offline app-and-camera harness. The public state remains rehearsal because the current live-view command has not yet been captured.

Captured packets

A bounded, real app-to-camera session; 13,956,746 source bytes.

Exact media bytes

The replay output matched the independently extracted 4K HEVC clip byte-for-byte.

What this proves

  • The app protocol is reproducible without the vendor cloud.
  • Control and media channels survive disorder and duplicate delivery.
  • The media output fails closed unless every expected byte agrees.

What it does not claim

  • This replay is recorded evidence, not a current live view.
  • No species, sex, or individual bird identity is claimed yet.
  • Live takeover remains gated on one fresh app live-view capture.
